Opening the season at home against Quakertown, the boys turned in a good fighting game and won, 9-6. Two weeks later they traveled to Jenkintown and, after a hard-fought game, triumphed by a score of 6-0.
The next game, played at Souderton, resulted in another win for the Maroon. The final score was 19-0. This marked the fourteenth straight win for the Lansdale elevens, the string dating back to the latter part of the 1936 season. However, the next game, played with the Ambler Trojans, marked the end of the streak and was also the first time the Maroon had been beaten on the new playing field. The Ambler team, making the breaks and taking advantage of every opportunity, outplayed our boys to win 13-0.

In the next encounter, Sell-Perk took the measure of the Cowanites to the same tune, 13-0. This was another hard-fought game, with all the breaks in the winners' favor.

The following week the team journeyed to Springfield. Still in a depression over the last two losses, the best they could do was a 7-7 tie. This game put the team in fine shape for the next game, played at home with Hatboro. The Maroon put on a good battle and won, 14-6.

This set the stage for the Annual Turkey Day Classic with Doylestown. Doylestown came to Lansdale and, amid two thousand spectators, freezing fingers, and a cold, rock-like gridiron, the Maroon triumphed by a score of 12-0. This was the third straight year in which the arch-rivals were set back, so Lansdale gained permanent possession of the Lencer Trophy.
Two players were selected in the All-Bux-Mont Conference ratings. They were Bill Hartman and Al White.
Managers Marty Marlin, Carl Rhoads and Arthur King did a great service in caring for the field and equipment. Dr. Paul Moyer, the school physician, was an aid in caring for the Injured.
