On Friday night, your Knights
took on the Downingtown Whippets in the first round of the District
1 Class AAAA playoffs. The Knights came away with a convincing win
of 35-12. Right from the get-go the Knights controlled the game
with their unrelenting running attack as well as their passing attack.
But the real story here is the Knight's defense,
which didn't allow a single point in the 4th quarter and had 3 take-aways;
the most the Whippets have given up all year. Downingtown's overrated
offense could not get anything going and only scored on a fake option
dive for 60 yards and then on a draw.
But the Knights who are known for their running
game definitely opened some eyes with their passing game. QB Justin
Wutti connected with Deanco Oliver for three touchdowns, and threw
for 105 yards. Deanco also had an interception, which lead to one
of his touchdowns.
Overall, the Knights came out ready to play
and it showed when Downingtown's offense was almost a non-factor,
thanks to an outstanding effort by the Knights' Defense. Also, Kevin
Akins rushed for 108 yards and had 2 touchdowns. Once again, the
Knights prove they are the real deal, hopefully the next team will
take them more seriously.

Pre-Game Write-up
On Friday night your North Penn
Knights (7-2) will be taking on the Downingtown Whippets (10-0)
in the first round of the PIAA District 1 State Playoffs. The Knights
will have their hands full with Downingtown, a team who likes to
air out the ball more than any other team the Knights have faced
this season. Also, the Whippets run out of the shotgun formation
for more than half of the time, which means that the defense will
really have to get pressure on QB Matt Helm. Matt has completed
64% of his passes this season and piled up 1,488 yards and 18 touchdowns.
All in all, this game will be definitely
worth the drive as the Knights look to win their first playoff game
since 1999. The game will be hard hitting, fast paced, and action
packed.
